Dictafy records what you say, turns it into a message you can send, and keeps that message so you can find it again. This page says exactly what that involves — what is collected, who else sees it, how long it is kept, and how to get rid of it.
Used to sign you in and to tell your messages apart from someone else's. Nothing is sent to it except sign-in codes.
Your recording is sent to be turned into text. The audio is not stored. It is processed and discarded — it is never saved to our database, and nobody at Dictafy listens to it.
The text of what you said, the three versions written from it, who you said it was for, and what you wanted out of it. These are stored so you can read them again later in Past messages.
That is the whole list. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no profile built about you.
Dictafy is a small app built on other people's infrastructure. Four companies handle your data in order to make it work:
Nobody else. Your messages are not sold, shared, or handed to advertisers, and no human at Dictafy reads them unless you ask us to look at something specific.
Your messages stay until you delete them. There is no automatic clear-out, so a message from a year ago is still there unless you removed it.
You can delete any single message from Past messages, or all of them at once.
In the app, open the account menu and choose Delete my account. That removes your account and every message you have made, immediately and permanently. There is no undo, nothing is archived, and nothing is kept in a backup copy for later.
You do not have to email anyone or ask permission.
Dictafy is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 13.
If this page changes in a way that affects what happens to your data, the date at the top changes with it.
